A typical menstrual cycle runs anywhere between 21 and 35 days. Anything within this range is generally considered normal. The length and flow can vary slightly month to month — that's also perfectly normal.
What's NOT normal: cycles that are consistently shorter than 21 days, longer than 35 days, bleeding for more than 7 days at a stretch, or extremely heavy bleeding with blood clots (soaking through a pad or tampon every hour).
